Do I need to buy a vehicle pass to park in the parking lot outside the event?

No.

Parking is FREE.

We will NOT be offering shuttle service in 2022. Instead, we have a dedicated crew of awesome folks (LIT or LOAD IN TEAM) who will be at the ready when you check-in at the gate.

Once you’ve received your wristbands,LIT member will escort you and your vehicle to the designated LIT stop closest to where you’d like to camp. You’ll have 15 minutes to unload your vehicle before the LIT member will escort you and your vehicle back out to the parking lot. Then you can walk back in, unencumbered.

We don’t want to camp at unSCruz, but would like to go for the day can we buy a day pass?

Ticket prices include admission for all 4 days of unSCruz and Tent Camping. If you decide to leave you may return if you are still wearing your wristband.

Is unSCruz a family friendly event (can I bring my offspring)?

Yes, we embrace radical inclusion at unSCruz. The parents of any minor at the event are responsible for them at all times. You are the filter for what your kids see and hear, which includes all adult behaviors at the event and life in general.

Do children have a different ticket price than adults?

Children under 12 are free, ages 12 to 17 must pay for a ticket and be with a signed legal guardian.

We embrace radical inclusion at unSCruz. The parents of any minor at the event are responsible for them at all times. You are the filter for what your kids see and hear, which includes all adult behaviors at the event and life in general.

This is a Burning Man event, we abide by all 10 principles.

LEAVE NO TRACE (LNT) is one of the principles.

  • Pack your trash
  • Pack it in, pack it out
  • Pack out whatever you brought in
  • Pick up any trash, paper, feathery bits, etc. even if you did not create the Matter Out Of Place (MOOP)

Can we have camp fires?

No.

Are there toilets?

NO PETS. Not only dogs and cats, NO PETS includes birds (geese, roosters, ducks, etc.)!

Service animals are welcome. A dog waiver form will be linked once we have one for 2023.

A limited number of RV/Camper/Trailer Passes will be available first come.

  • In and out privileges are for sentient beings only not vehicles inside the gate

Can I camp next to my car?

In an effort to maximize space for FUN and tent camping, all personal vehicles MUST be parked in the parking lot. If you are not actually sleeping in your vehicle, please do not purchase a vehicle pass! We have a lot nearby. Please see the entry for campers below.

If your car is inside the event and not being utilized as a sleeping space, you will be asked to move your vehicle down to a designated parking area that does not interfere with potential camping space for others.

Don’t spend money where you don’t have to. You can park your vehicle in the free lot, and as long as you keep your wristband on, you may come back in.

Entry for Campers

Once you’ve received your wristbands,LIT member will escort you and your vehicle to the designated LIT stop closest to where you’d like to camp. You’ll have 15 minutes to unload your vehicle before the LIT member will escort you and your vehicle back out to the parking lot. Then you can walk back in, unencumbered.

Please be prepared to have someone with you who can remain with your belongings. Also, be prepared to move your belongings from the LIT stop to your camping place. The LIT member will only be allowing drop-offs at designated LIT stops, so please DO NOT ask to drop your belongings somewhere else.

Will there be alcohol sold at the event?

No. Nothing can be bought or sold at the event.

It is unfortunate that alcohol is such a sticking point with the Fairgrounds. They will not budge on their rule, “no outside alcohol.” A marginal alternative would be if they had a bar, where people could purchase a drink.

However, Burning Man Org will not budge on their principle, “no buying or selling.” Accordingly, the Santa Cruz Regional is in a very awkward, and frustrating position.

Please ask someone who’s been in the past. And…speakeasy!

Will there be food sold at the event?

No. If you want it, bring it. –>Radical Self Reliance.

What should I bring?

Food, water, costumes, camping gear, whatever you need to survive the weekend.
